------------------------------- One can hardly open the paper or turn on the TV without being reminded about the 2008 Presidential election. Almost forgotten, is that there is an election this year that in many ways has a greater impact on our lives. The education of our children, a large portion of our taxes and whether vacant land becomes a shopping center rather than a park are just a few of the many issues controlled by candidates running this year, not next. As an advocacy group dedicated to responsible development, our main interest this year is in the Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors election when 40% of the board seats are on the ballot. There are three candidates running for two seats. They are Marshall Bleefeld (D), Joe Palmer (R - incumbent) and Adam Zucker (R). WRO hosted a Board of Supervisors candidates' forum on October 10th which was attended by 110 people. Video from the event is available, here. While the 2008 election garners world wide attention, this year's election deserves our attention locally . Please remember to vote on November 6th.
